Buy nowAm I the only ProAdvisor who absolutely hates the new reports? The formatting is ugly, confusing, and unhelpful. Is there any way we can just permanently opt out? The changes serve no purpose whatsoever.
Also, why does QBO roll out new formatting and features in November/December, literally the busiest time of year for most accounting professionals? Why??
Hello nolabookkeeper,
I appreciate your feedback on our latest report interface.
As of now, you may click the Switch to classic view button to use the previous report layout.
Just a heads up, this option is available to some sales and customers reports.
I can see how great it would be to be able to use the classic view layout permanently, with that, I suggest sharing a proposal with our developer's team so they'll review it and may consider this for future updates. Here's how to send feedback.
Moreover, I've added this article as your guide in personalizing the report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
You can always mention my name if you have other concerns about running reports.
@nolabookkeeper I think I like you!
RE: Am I the only ProAdvisor who absolutely hates the new reports?
No. Most everyone hates them.
RE: The formatting is ugly, confusing, and unhelpful.
You are correct!
RE: Is there any way we can just permanently opt out?
No, and soon you will be forced to use them - they'll be the only available option, sometime in January 2024 if Intuit's last emailed notice is accurate.
RE: The changes serve no purpose whatsoever.
Again, you are correct!
RE: Also, why does QBO roll out new formatting and features in November/December, literally the busiest time of year for most accounting professionals? Why??
Yes, why oh why?! There are a lot of things Intuit seems to have lost track of lately, as exemplified in their recent "modern" reports and sales forms (what the hell is a modern invoice or report anyway?), and one of them is that making huge, destabilizing, buggy changes at year-end in their accounting software is a very bad idea. They used to know this - they even used to publicly praise themselves for avoiding year-end changes in order to accommodate accountants. But they seem to have completely forgotten about all that.
Maybe they'll come out with some big new updates in January. No one is busy then, right? Or how about the beginning of April. That'd be nice.
