Not able to add linked transactions to an invoice if the invoice has already been created

I used to be able to create an invoice and add transactions to it throughout the month before sending it to the client. with this new invoice interface, if I create an invoice, I can't go back to it later to add additional linked transitions. they won't pop up unless I create a new invoice. this is really frustrating because I like to prepare my invoices throughout the month and not leave it all to do at once. i know that it's not an issue with the transactions being marked billable, because if I create a new invoice for the same client, they pop right up. this must be a glitch in the new update, if there's a way to fix this on my end please tell me! otherwise, QuickBooks please change it back so I can edit my invoices and add linked transactions over time!

Not able to add linked transactions to an invoice if the invoice has already been created

If you've already created an invoice, you cannot link transactions such as estimates, billable entries, and others. To fix this, you need to delete and recreate an invoice to appear those transactions again, Dmbknyc.

However, if the automatically show suggested transactions feature isn't activated yet, you can turn it on to see the transactions that you've created for your specific client. Here's how:

  1. Click + New.
  2. Select Invoice.
  3. Click Manage, then choose Suggestions.
  4. Tick the box to automatically show suggested transactions.

Please see screenshot below for reference.

After that, if you have already turned it on, you can now proceed to create a new invoice and link the transactions. It will just automatically show up if you selected one of your client. Please make sure you to select Save and Close after.

For you to not create again a transaction, you simply need to delete the invoice that you've created, then recreate. Here's how to delete:

  1. Go to the invoice that you've created.
  2. Below, click More actions.
  3. Then, click delete.

To recreate an invoice for you to see the transactions that need to be linked for you to send to the client please check this article, create invoices in QuickBooks Online. And, you will see there the transactions that you've created on your specific client.
