I can't seem to find in QuickBooks Desktop a report that will give me the number of transactions I enter for a given period of time. I need to know how many bills I enter weekly. It would also be helpful to know how many credit card transactions I enter monthly. Thank you! Michelle

There aren't any reports in QuickBooks that will count the number of transactions in this way. I think the only way to get that is to create a transaction report, filtered for Detail Level = Summary (so each transaction appears as only one row), and for the transaction type(s) desired and send it to Excel. Then count the rows there, which will equal the number of transactions recorded for the period.
Hello there, @MichelleMM1.
At this time, QuickBooks Desktop reports don't have a specific option to generate the total number of transactions you've entered.
As a workaround, you can run a Transaction report (Transaction List by Vendor report) and customize it to a particular type of transaction and report period, as suggested by
BigRedConsulting. Here's how:
Once done, export it to Excel by clicking the Excel drop-down arrow. Then, select Create New Worksheet. From there, you'll be able to see the number of transactions you created.

It would be nice to this graph/features. In today's world Quicken is quickly getting left behind. Basic analytics is missing. Not that hard to create a chart to compare number of transactions per month/quarter/year, average value per transaction per month/quarter year and compare it across time to see how the business is performing.
That's just the most basic feature even paypal provides.
That’s a great idea, @MB_BCE.

I found the below to be helpful when Finding Out the Total Number of Transactions I have entered or modified on any given day.
Go to Reports
Accountant & Taxes
Choose Transaction List by Date Report
Click Customize Report Button
Add Trans # and Entered/Last Modified
Click OK
Modify Date to All
Sort by Entered/Last Modified
Any transaction you modified will appear by date
You can then count the transactions or pull report into Excel to sort by specifics.
Every year I am becoming more and more disappointed with Quickbooks. From being forced to eventually use the online version, to being overpriced, to not even being able to get a "transaction entered" amount in order to determine if bookkeepers are doing their work. As Quickbooks evolves, it becomes more and more incapable. You are forgetting the small business. I am starting to believe there must be a better way.
