On both the mobile app and on my computer browser, Quickbooks is giving me an error that it cannot save my invoice right now.

The browser on my computer said to try refreshing the page and creating the invoice again, but that action did not resolve the problem. Is anyone else having this problem? It worked just fine yesterday.

Good to see you here in the Community, Judy. I have some troubleshooting steps that will help you save your invoices on both mobile apps and browsers.

To identify if the issue is related to your browser, we suggest performing some troubleshooting steps. Let's access your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue.

You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift + N

If it works, switch back to your regular browser. Then, clear its cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported one.

Also, we can reset the app data to clear the cache and refresh it into its default state. Before doing so, let's ensure that your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) mobile app is updated, as well as your phone's operating system. It helps your application work smoothly and without any interruptions.

To clear the app's cache files, here's how you can do it:

For the IOS version:

  1. Go to the Menu icon and tap Help & Feedback.
  2. Select Refresh Data.
  3. If you get a prompt message: "Caution. If there was a problem getting your latest QuickBooks Online data, you can refresh it now. It may take a few minutes.”
  4. Tap Refresh to confirm.

For Android devices:

  1. Go to the Menu icon, then tap More Options ⋮.
  2. Tap Settings, then Refresh Data.
  3. Select YES to confirm.

You can also refresh the data on your Phone Settings, by following the steps below:

  • For Android - Go to your phone's settings, select Apps choose the QuickBooks app from the list, and select Storage. Then tap Clear data.
  • For iOS - On your phone's settings, select Settings, then, click on General and choose iPhone Storage. Select an app that's taking up a lot of space. To free up the storage without deleting the documents and data for the app, select Offload App.

If the issue persists, you'll want to uninstall and re-install the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) application.

However, if the troubleshooting steps above don't work on your end, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the tools to conduct further research on your account and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

To reach them, click the Assistant button at the top-right corner and enter your concern in the search icon at the bottom. Ensure to review their support hours to know when agents are available.

Moreover, you can check out this additional guide on how to collect sales tax for the products and services you offer. It covers the process of manually tracking sales tax and adding it to an invoice using QuickBooks Self-Employed: Manually track sales tax in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns about invoices. I'm here to assist you and make sure your experience with our app and browsers is as smooth and hassle-free as possible. Have a great day ahead!
