Join nowI would like to be able to view multiple transactions at the same time. For example, I would like to be able to compare an invoice with a vendor's bill without having to flip back and forth.
Is there any way to do this?
Thank you?
I know you know you can keep multiple windows open, but I think what you want is to be able to view both windows half size, side by side? The ability to slide an open window in QB (any version) out of QB onto a second monitor does not exist. All you can do is resize and move each window you wish open and make certain neither window overlaps another.
I cannot comment on the mac version, but in the PC version, if you have just 2 windows open you can "tile" the windows horizontally or vertically (vertical would work best to compare 2 unique windows)
Note, you cannot open more than one of a type at a time - one bill, one invoice, one bill payment
Not quite.
What I want is to be able to view multiple transactions at the same time. Ideally, I could have two invoices on the screen at the same time, but I would settle for having, say, a bill and an invoice visible simultaneously.
I know I can have multiple windows of different types open - one containing reports, plus, say the Transaction Center, but that doesn't get me where I want to be. In other words, I want separate windows for what now is on separate tabs in the transactions window.
I appreciate the clarifications that you gave, @byomtov.
I can see the convenience of being able to open separate tabs for your transactions.
As mentioned by john-pero above, you can open more than one tab per transaction type. However, viewing multiple tabs for different transactions types isn't available.

When you say I can "open more than one tab per transaction type," do you mean I can view, say, two invoices at the same time, or just that I can have two invoice tabs?
Whichever it is, I don't know how to do it, so I would appreciate it if you could explain.
Thanks.
Thank you for following-up, byomtov.
As mentioned by my colleague BettyJaneB, you can only open multiple windows pre transaction type. That means, you won't be able to open two the same type of transactions like the invoice.
You can also utilize different reports that you can customize in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. This also give you multiple options to view the details for each transactions.

Actually, that's the opposite of what she said.
She said, "As mentioned by john-pero above, you can open more than one tab per transaction type. However, viewing multiple tabs for different transactions types isn't available."
Now you say, "you can only open multiple windows pre transaction type. That means, you won't be able to open two the same type of transactions like the invoice."
Which is it?
I'm here to help clear things up for you on your query about the option to view different transactions at the same time in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac, @byomtov.
I believe what he meant with multiple windows is multiple tabs. As my peers stated above, the feature you're looking for is currently unavailable in QBDT for Mac. I suggest you submit a feedback request from within the product. This way, it goes straight to our product developers.
Here's how:
