P&L Report by Parent Customer

Hello,

Is there a way to run a P&L report by customer that groups (subtotals) all of the projects into their respective parent customers?  When I run a P&L by customer report, it currently shows every customer and every project, which is not what I need.  I would like a P&L that only shows the top-level parent customers, with the totals for each project grouped into each parent customer.  Is this something that can be done?  I am using Quickbooks Online Advanced.

Thanks

Greetings, @kmoya

It's great to see a new face here in the Community. I can give you some insight about running a profit and loss report within your QuickBooks Online account.

I can see how beneficial this would be for you and your business. However, at this time, there isn't a way to run a report with the request you have given.

Although this is the case, you can always send feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider adding new filters, columns, and other details to reports in QuickBooks Online.

Check out our Blog site to keep up with what's new in the system.

Thanks again for stopping into the Community with your question. I hope we're able to improve the product so that you're able to run a profit and loss report with the information you need. Feel free to come back if you have any other questions. Have a wonderful day!

P&L Report by Parent Customer

Thanks for the reply.  I'll try exporting the data so I can build the report using a different tool.

Thank you.

Good morning again, @kmoya

Thanks for coming back to this thread.

Yes, you've got the right idea! The best route, at this time, would be to export the report and build it the way you want in Excel.

Here's a guide on exporting report that could help you out now or in the future: Export your reports to Excel

Let me know if this workaround works for your business. Take care!
