PDF upload from desktop browser has not worked for 1+ week now

I have not been able to upload PDFs in Transactions -> Add Receipt from August 1st. QBs rep has confirmed this is problem in the backend and they are working on fixing it.

How can it take QBs 7+ days to fix an old feature that they broke?

I am shocked at the state of affairs!

We understand the inconvenience of not being able to upload PDFs in transactions, smartyram.

We're unable to provide a specific time frame as to when this gets resolved. Please know that our engineers are in the process of implementing a fix that will solve the issue.

As a workaround, you can upload the receipt using the mobile app. Let me show you how:

On an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu and select the Plus (+) sign.
  2. Select Snap receipt.
  3. Take a photo of the receipt, or select the photo icon to upload an image.

For Android phone or tablet:

  1. Select the menu ☰ icon.
  2. Go to the Transactions menu and select the Plus (+) sign.
  3. Select Snap receipt.
  4. Take a photo of the receipt, or select the photo icon to upload an image.

For more details, refer to this article: Record or attach expense receipts in QBSE.

Also, I've added this resource about categorizing your transactions on the correct line of your schedule C for future reference.

We appreciate your patience as we're working for a permanent fix on the issue.

PDF upload from desktop browser has not worked for 1+ week now

It is now three weeks and this problem has not been fixed. Looks like multiple people are facing this issue. There are numerous posts on this forum about PDF upload not working.

Please escalate and get this fixed ASAP.

I can see how difficult this has been, @smartyram. I know that you've done everything you could to resolve the uploading receipt issue in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). So I'm here to provide additional information about this.

This issue has already been raised to our engineering team and we're still working to find a permanent fix. Rest assured that they're dedicated to doing everything they can to resolve the issue. In the meantime, you may perform the recommended workaround outlined by my colleague above in uploading the receipt via the mobile app.

Also, if you haven't already, I recommend contacting our Customer Care team to add your account to the list of affected users. This way, you'll receive email updates about the status of the investigation. Here's how:

  1. In your QBSE account, click the Help icon.
  2. Next, select the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter a brief description of your concern in the box. Example: PDF upload not working in QBSE.
  4. Then, select Continue.
  5. From there, select a way you want to connect with our live support.

To ensure you'll be assisted immediately, feel free to visit our support hours page.

I've also added this resource that you can use as a reference in categorizing your transactions to make sure they are allocated on the correct line of your Schedule C. This also guides you in organizing your income and expenses.

Let me know how this goes. I'd appreciate any details you can add. If you have any other questions about managing your receipt in QBSE, simply leave a comment below. I'm always ready to lend a hand. Have a great day ahead and keep safe.
