Please, Is it possible to remove COGS And Gross Margin columns from Sales by Item Summary once the employee has run the report?
As our company security matrix, We should prevent the employees who have the access to the Sales Report to see the COGS and Gross Margin.
Please, find attached we need to prevent the Employee from view as shown in the red color.
Thanks.
Hi, alimonqith.
I appreciate the screenshot you've provided. Preventing the employee to view the COGS And Gross Margin in the Sales by Item Summary report is currently unavailable.
As a workaround, you can remove the COGS And Gross Margin by customizing the report and memorize it. Once memorized, you can share this report with your employee without that information.
Here's how:
Once saved, you can let your employees access it from the Memorized Reports section. See the sample screenshot below.
To get more details about memorizing reports in QuickBooks Desktop, you can go through this article: Create, access, and modify memorized reports. This provides you additional steps on how to modify and delete memorized reports as well as some links on how to resolve missing reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Hello Rose,
Thank you very much and I appreciate the screenshots you've provided, I have known the Customize and memorize report, and even if I did that the employee still had the access on the main report Sales by item summary report.
I think it is Great If we can make a Security matrix on the memorized Report Group like Employee or Accountant , etc...
Thanks.
Thanks, Rose,
No its not possible to change the default report or to hide that data from people who have access to the report; If an employee has access to sales transactions where that data is recorded, there are many more ways they can access it.
