pos workstation exchange

I am running two workstations on POS, and just recently, when I count down the cash drawer for one workstation, the deposit amount shows up as "cash drawer short." Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Welcome to the Community space, Neal8.

When a deposit amount shows up as cash drawer short on Point of Sale, this is probably because amounts were taken out of your Cash Drawer that weren't recorded. You'll want to make sure to record any bank deposits to prevent discrepancies

Additionally, ensure that the Starting Amount is correct when running the Count Drawer report. I also suggest to physically recount the number of bills and coin type when reconciling your cash drawer. This reduces the chance of shortages and error when entering the amount of cash on hand in the register.

Lastly, I would recommend contacting out to our QuickBooks Team so they can help you review the shortage and guide you in making adjustments.

To reach them, open this link and look for Intuit Point of Salehttps://community.intuit.com/browse/payments-contact-us.
