Print the Notes field in Sales Receipts

I have entered 'Notes' in the transaction tab ( I also entered them in the Customer Tab, for good measure) of the "Enter Sales Receipts" form.  I have also created a Sales Receipt Template, using the Notes field (checked the Print Box in the 'Additional Customization screen). However, when I use that custom Template, the Notes do not print.  Is it possible to print Notes on a Sales Receipt template?

Print the Notes field in Sales Receipts

Thank you for the detailed information, @JM952.

I want to ensure you can print the Notes field on your sales receipts.

Once you check the Print box to the Notes field, you should be able the print the field when using the customized templated. Since it doesn't print, it's possible that the template was damaged. In this case, you'll want to delete and recreate the Sales Receipt template. Here's how to delete a template:

  1. Go to the Lists menu, then select Template.
  2. Find the created Sales receipt template.
  3. Right-click on it and choose Delete template.
  4. Click OK to confirm.
  5. Once done, recreate the template.

If you get the same result, let's run the Verify and Rebuild Utility tools to check any data issues within the company file. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the File menu, then choose Utilities from the list.
  2. Select the Verify Data tool then wait until the diagnosis is done.
  3. If there are issues, proceed to rebuild the company file.
  4. Click the File menu again, then select Utilities.
  5. Choose Rebuild Data then click OK.

Come back to this post and let me know how it goes, @JM952. I'll be around to provide further assistance.

Print the Notes field in Sales Receipts

Thank you for your reply, Mark_R.  I realized that I was entering information into the Notes Field to the right of the Sales Receipt entry form (see attached Screen shot).  The lower red arrow points to the Notes Field I used initially.  I entered the Notes in both the Customer Tab and the Transaction Tab. I was unable to print those notes on the Sales Receipts.  Then I found the other Notes Field in the 'Customize Template' screens, so I added that field to my Screen and Print versions of the Sales Receipt.  Success -- That Notes field appeared correctly (see upper red arrow) on my screen and in print, but the field has a 30 character limit, which does not work for me.  Is there any way to print out the other Notes field, which doesn't appear to have a character limit?  There is also a field in the Footer tab, called Long Text, but that won't work, because it can only be printed and does not appear on the screen.

Adding a transaction-specific note to a sale receipt (or to any form for that matter) would be very helpful.

Thank you for providing additional details about your concern, particularly the screenshot, JM952.

I recognize the value of printing the notes entered in the Customer Information and Transactions tab on your sales receipts. Adding this functionality allows you to enter more information about the transaction and track it more easily.
