Profit & Loss Budget Vs. Actual Will Not Format Correctly When Printed Out of Quickbooks Desktop

Suddenly my profit and loss compared to budget report will not format correctly.

The accounts appear as they should, but the columns of numbers do not align, they skew left and right of center.

I have tried changing print settings, scaling, changing paper type and then changing it back.

The numbers format if I export them to excel, or if the columns are collapsed, but in expanded columns form the numbers to not format.

Does anyone have any experience with this?  I am at my wits end.

This doesn't sound familiar.

Can you post a screenshot of the issue?

Profit & Loss Budget Vs. Actual Will Not Format Correctly When Printed Out of Quickbooks Desktop

I have troubleshooting steps to help fix the Profit & Loss Budget Vs. Actual report columns, @yp4.

I appreciate everything you've done to get this resolved. I understand how frustrating it is to keep getting the same results even if you have already modified the print settings, scaling, and paper type.

You should ensure your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) has the newest features and enhancements. By doing this, we can stop strange behavior from happening.

If the issue persists, I'd suggest running the QuickBooks Print & Print Repair Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will help troubleshoot errors like this when printing your reports.

Complete the following procedures:

  1. Close your QuickBooks and download our QuickBooks Tool Hub
  2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install.
  4. When the installation finishes, open the tool hub on your Windows desktop.
  5. Select Program Problems and hit QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool.

After that, try printing or exporting the report as an Excel file again to see if everything is working well. If this doesn't resolve the problem, I suggest implementing Solutions 2 through 4 listed in this article: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop.

You can also check on the following article to guide you in generating and customizing your report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have any questions about printing your reports or anything else, please leave a comment below. I'd love to share my years of expertise with you. Take care.
