Hello. It's my pleasure to assist you with adding horizontal lines to your progress invoice template in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @manderson1314.
You'll want to add a horizontal text box the in your progress invoice template from the Layout Designers section. I'll guide you through the steps below.
- Select Lists at the top menu bar and choose Templates.
- Locate and open the Custom Progress Invoice.
- Click the Layout Designer box.
- From the Layout designer window, click the Add dropdown at the top area and select the Text box.
- You can customize the Text, Border, and Background with your choice and click Ok.
- Drag the text box on the area you'd like to put it. You can also expand it to resize the box.
- Then select OK to save changes.

Once done customizing your progress invoice template, you're ready to set up and use progress invoicing, so you can split an estimate into as many invoices as you need.
