Unfortunately, this type of report is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop. As of the moment, the vendor/purchase-related reports in the program will only show how much of each item or service your company has purchased in both quantity and dollar amount.
As a workaround, you'll want to consider exporting the Purchases by Item Detail report to an Excel file. This way, you'll be able to further customize it and compute the variance of your purchases. I'll guide you how:
- Select Reports from the top menu bar.
- Head to the Purchases section.
- Select Purchases by Item Detail.
- Click the Customize button, then set the appropriate reporting date.
- From the Display tab, select Discount Available from the Columns menu.
- Hit OK to apply the filters.
- Click the Excel icon, then choose Create New Worksheet.
