QBO Journal Entries Reporting

Hello,

We recently migrated from QB Desktop to QBO. We always enter  customer or vendor names on all our journal entries, but now when running reports, I see that the names from theses entries do not appear in the report. This was not an issue with Desktop. Does anyone know how to make this work in QBO? I appreciate any assistance. Thank you

QBO Journal Entries Reporting

Hi there, @Mirella.

I understand that this has been challenging for you as a new QuickBooks Online user. Rest assured that I can help you view the customer or vendor's name in your report.

The names associated with your journal entries won't be shown under the Name column in your Transaction report. However, you can customize your report to show these data.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. On the left navigation panel, select Reports.
  3. In the Find report by name field, search and select Journal or any report that you want to access.
  4. Click the Customize button.
  5. Under the Rows/Columns section, click Change columns.
  6. Locate and tick the Costumer and Vendor.
  7. Under the Filter section, check the Transaction Type, then select Journal Entry.
  8. Click Run Report.

For a detailed step-by-step process, check out this article: Customize reports in QBO. By customizing your reports, you have the ability to display the specific information that holds the highest significance for you.

Additionally, I've included an article that'll help you save the current customization of your report so you won't have to repeat the customization process over again: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to reach us if you still have other concerns about managing your reports. We will gladly assist you in any way possible. Have a great day!
