QBO Student EOY closing at a date in the future

Hey there, @userepark90417.

QuickBooks Online automatically follows the date that was set on your computer. If you want to change the date in your QuickBooks account, you can directly go to your PC settings and update it from there.

Simply press the Windows key or logo on your keyboard to display the taskbar. Then, right-click the Date/Time display on the taskbar and select Adjust Date/Time from the shortcut menu. Next, click the Change Date and Time button. Finally, enter a new time in the Time field and select OK to save the changes.

Additionally, you can check out this article as your reference in setting up your sales tax in QuickBooks: Set up and use automated sales tax in QuickBooks Online.

You're welcome to visit this thread again if you have questions regarding QuickBooks Online. I'm here to assist you.

QBO Student EOY closing at a date in the future

Thank you for the reply. I have followed the instructions for setting up sales tax. I am using a textbook by Carol Yacht from McGraw Hill. Are you suggesting that I change the system date of my entire computer?

The way this student company is set up is to do all transactions "in the future." Currently, I am on the chapter for EOY closing. The problem is that the Taxes section of QBO does not allow me to set it up as a future date, the way everything else has been set up.

QBO Student EOY closing at a date in the future

Hello, @userepark90417.

Yes, you'll have to change the system date to do the End of financial year closing. If you have already set up the system date and will still not allow you to change the future date on the sales tax, you can click the ? Help button at the top-right corner of the page. This is done to be able to speak with one of our QuickBooks Online representatives. They have the tools to perform a screen share and help you get to the bottom of it.

I've added an article to see the Support hours to know what is the best time to call at your convenience: QuickBooks Online Support Hours.

You can always tag my name in the comment section below if you have other questions. I'd be happy to answer them. Take care.
