Join nowI'm using QBO and wanted to add "payment method" as a column to a transaction report, drilling down on an income account. But I don't see it as a column to add and I can't find a way in the settings to add it either. Is there a way to add it?

Please know that adding a Payment Method as a column to a Transaction or on the Profit and Loss report is currently unavailable. However, you can run a different report to achieve this in QuickBooks Online. Let me provide the steps below on how to perform the process.
I suggest running and customizing the Transaction Detail by Account report. This way, you're able to filter it to drill to an income account or to a particular one and add the Payment Method column.

Understood and thanks for that. However, I want to be able to add this option from a custom P&L after drilling down in a specific income account to a transaction report in Classic View.
It seems like this column is only available if I navigate through a different path, so if that's the case, then that's what I'll need to do ... I was just hoping that QBO would be flexible enough to provide this column after opening up detail on an account from my P&L.

As I mentioned above, adding the Payment Method column to a Profit and Loss or on the Transaction report isn't presently possible in QuickBooks Online. Then, yes, you are correct that the indicated option is only available by navigating through a separate statement or on the report I mentioned above.
For now, I recommend going to the Gear icon in QuickBooks. You're able to enter your suggestions from there about the ability to add a Payment Method on a custom P&L report. You can then select Next to submit the request. Once done, your recommendation is sent to our engineers for consideration in future updates.
