QuickBooks Desktop 2024 Invoice Design Changed — Unable to Modify Layout

You can modify the invoice layout by using a custom template for them. Here's how to customize the form template: 

1. Select the type of form you’d like to customize.
2. From the form, press the Formatting tab then Manage Templates.
3. Choose a template to preview, then click Copy to create a new template or OK to edit the template.
4. Use the basic customization window to:
   1. Add your logo: Select the Use logo checkbox if you want your company logo to appear on your form. If you want to change your logo, select the Select Logo option to select the image you want to use.
   2. Change fonts and colors: This section lets you personalize fonts and colors for certain details used in the form, like company name, labels, and data.
   3. Change company & transaction information: Here you can select the contact information you want to appear on the invoice. You can also change any of this information by selecting Update Information.
5. Pick Additional Customization to add or remove the items from the header, columns, or footer. Then Layout Designer to move or resize items on the form.
6. When you’re done, tap OK.
7. Select Print Preview to see your form. If everything looks good, press Close.
8. Tap OK.

We want to share an update regarding invoices in QuickBooks Premier Plus Contractor Edition 2024. The invoice format has been refreshed to match the modern design used in QuickBooks Online, ensuring a consistent and professional appearance for your documents.

Currently, this new format is standardized and cannot be customized or reverted to the previous version. This change is designed to enhance consistency across all platforms and provide your clients with clear, professional-looking invoices. We encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions with our Product Development Team by submitting feedback in QBDT, as this helps our product engineers understand how you would like the program to function.

Here’s how:

1. Go to the Help menu.
2. Choose Send Feedback Online.
3. Select Product Suggestion to open the feedback window.
4. Type in your feedback or suggestion.
5. Click Send Feedback to submit your input.

I am very embarrassed to send my customer an invoice that says "please pay your invoice on time".  Frankly its rude if we have certain agreements.  This is not professional. 

QB needs to return this back to owner desktop control and not the online version.  Very frustrated with QB. 

I too find the current invoice design extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. 

Intuit has failed to provide “professional-looking invoices”. 

1. The due date should be able to set to “due on receipt” or left blank. And not red in any case. The red does not make reading the very short email easier and makes the client feel that they are late in payment when they are not. 

2. The sentence, “Please pay this invoice on time.”  is flat out rude. Please remove it immediately from the standard form. I can add my own note if I want to remind a client I need a timely payment. 

This new format damages my ability to manage client relationships. 

This is an unacceptable update, and if left unfixed,  will cause me to switch to  a better solution provider.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can set the due date to Due on Receipt, but you cannot leave it blank. The system automatically assigns a due date, which may appear in red text depending on the template.

Additionally, the specific phrase may be part of a default email message or footer on your invoice template. Currently, we recommend sharing your feedback with our Product Development Team, as your suggestions help our engineers understand how you would like the software to work.

Hi JoelES. See the response above from employee FatimaJasmin_V.  I do not believe there is any “template” that is available for this service. The end user can’t change the phrase “please pay this invoice on time.” And the due date text will always be red ,not “may appear red” as suggested. 
I appreciate your response but this appears to be an Intuit problem not an end user problem.

There is no template that can be edited by the user. 
The due date text WILL be red not “May appear red” as suggested. 

I appreciate your response but this is an Intuit problem and not an end user issue.
