QuickBooks Online Accounting Method

Our QuickBooks Online company uses the Cash method; I have changed the settings in Accounts and Settings to reflect that. However when I print financial statements, the default is still Accrual. If I forget to change it, the reports will be incorrect. Why don't the reports default to what is specified in the Accounts and Settings section?

Thanks,

Sally

QuickBooks Online Accounting Method

Hello there, @sally15.

You can change the default accounting method set up to cash method when pulling up a financial report.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Settings icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. In the Accounting section, select the Pencil icon.
  4. Choose the Accounting method on the drop-down arrow. Then, select Save. Click Done.

You can also customize your report in QuickBooks to show you the information you need the way you want to see it. You can use this article to know how: Customize a report.

Let me know if you need further assistance. I am here to help. Have a good day!

These steps must be followed by a MASTER ADMIN in order to reflect a change to report default settings.
