I am a bookkeeper and none of my QuickBooks clients find any use for the solopreneur and their other basic offers because the people that work at intuit don't run a business or know what is necessary features. Most off-putting is that they put purchase orders as a plus subscription only, kind of silly since purchase orders is a basic feature. Intuit clearly doesn't know which features should be in different levels so I understand your frustration.
Another frustration is as someone who has used QuickBooks since 2003 both desktop and online, they have spent most of their time talking to CPA's and not business owners or even a knowledgeable bookkeeper like myself that handles day to day operations. They designed QuickBooks to be so confusing and not user friendly that most of my clients are asking for alternatives. When you call QuickBooks support, they know nothing about the product, several times the support people have tried clearing all my browser data and it did not fix the problem and I had to spend hours logging back into everything.
You should not release bait and switch absolute garbage. Accounting software with no chart of accounts? Go fly a kite.
