Can i change estimate numbers?

It's great to have you join this forum, mkuefler. I'm here to provide detailed insights to help you manage modified estimate numbers in your online account.

In QuickBooks Online, you can make changes to your estimate numbers without affecting the data entered into your sales form. Since these are non-posting transactions, you need to ensure you're saving an old previous number, so your entries are accurately recorded. To do this:

  1. In your QBO account, go to Sales and select the All Sales tab.
  2. Click on the Estimates section.
  3. Find and choose the specific estimated transaction and click Edit under the Action column.
  4. Apply any changes to the estimate numbers and review all necessary details.
  5. Then, Save and Close.

In addition to that, you can link and convert your estimates to an invoice form to have seamless tracking of your sales transactions made to your customers.

Once your customer receives and pay their invoices, you can track and enter their payments to make sure the balances in your file are accurate.

If there's anything else you need further assistance with when managing estimates in your account, just keep me posted in the comments below. I'll be around whenever you need additional help. Keep safe and have a great day ahead!
