The screenshot you have is not the correct one because it pertains to a single-time activity.

To clarify, even if you have a different navigation, rest assured, that we can still assign a unique billable time rate to your customers or projects using the navigation that you have.
Here's how:
Once you create an invoice, it shows the Suggested transactions linked to your project or customer then click Add to your invoice.
As to your Original Post (OP), there's currently no option to add a project type to a project. You can consider adding it to the description field when you add or edit it.
If you're using QBO Advanced, add a custom field for the project type.
