Closing sales day report

How can I see a daily closing, at the end of the day, how can I see sales in my business, what products we sold, how was each sale charged, cash, card, bank deposit or credit sale? Let's say it's a daily cash closing with the report

Closing sales day report

Hello there, @HGH Pharma .

Thanks for visiting the Community space. I'd be glad to provide information about tracking your daily sales in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, we can pull up the Sales by Customer Detail report and then customize it to show the specific date and other information of your daily sales. However, please know that this report is exclusive to QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced subscriptions.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. In the search field, you can enter and click on Sales by Customer Detail.

  3. Set the date range of the Report period to Today.
  4. Choose the correct Accounting method.
  5. Tap on the Customize button.

  6. Click the Change columns link, then place a checkmark next to Payment MethodA/R Paid, and the information you want to see.

  7. Select Run report.

Here's a sample screenshot after customizing the report:

Additionally, you can modify your reports in QuickBooks to show the correct data for each company. I've attached the article you can use to make changes to the filters and other information: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I've also included this resource for your reference in case you want to export your reports to Excel: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

I'd like to know how it went after running the report, as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Just reply to this post if you need more help in managing your reports and I'll get back to you. Have a great day ahead!

Very good! It's pretty much what I need. It would be perfect if I could add the expenses. I didn't see the option in the filters.

Thank you.

You can run a separate report, HGH1.

It is correct that adding expenses to Sales by Customer Detail isn't possible. QuickBooks use a concept known as Source and Targets to apply accounting principles and processes such as logging transactions and displaying reports. The Source is summary information about a transaction, whereas the Targets contain detailed information about the transaction.

You can customize the Profit & Loss or Transaction Detail by Account report to show only expenses on a daily basis. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Reports tab.
  2. Run the Profit & Loss or Transaction Detail by Account report.
  3. Enter the correct reporting period from the Report period dropdown.
  4. On the report, click the Customize button.
  5. Click on Filter to expand the options.
  6. On the Transaction Type drop-down, select Expense.
  7. In the Account drop-down, mark the accounts you'd like to view in the report.
  8. Click Run report.

You can also export your report to Excel if you wish to combine the data.

Furthermore, you can memorize your report to save the current customization setting if you want to use in the future.

You're welcome to post again if you need further assistance running reports in QuickBooks. Have a great day.
