Join nowQB Desktop reporting question here. I would like a SINGLE report of vendors whose GL insurance OR WC insurance expired in the past so that we can get renewed COIs. Filtering seems to allow an AND condition but not an OR condition like I’m looking for here. What’s the best way to get a single report with these two OR conditions being met.
Hi there, Charlie. I can share some information about running reports in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
The option to use the OR condition to specify reports isn't possible in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). However, you can run a Vendor Contact List report and customize it.
By clicking on the Display option, you can select the Work Comp Expires, Gen Liability, and T&C renewal date fields. This will work if you have already added and set up the relevant information for your vendors.
In addition, here are the available reports for workers’ comp with their descriptions and how you can run them in QBDT.
Keep your post coming if you need further assistance managing reports in QBDT. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.

That sort of OR filter isn't possible using QB reports. Probably the best thing you can do is create a report with both of those dates, then send it to Excel, and then add a column with a formula in each row that determines if you want that row or not.
Your formula could look like this:
Here's the text of the first formula, which will work when the dates are in columns D and E. If yours are in different columns, then adjust the formula to suit:
=IF(OR(AND(D2>0, D2<TODAY()),AND(E2>0, E2<TODAY())),"Yes", "No")
Once you have the Yes No column set up, you can then sort of filter the worksheet based on the rows you want to see, I think the Yes / Expired rows in your case.
