Does QBO allow a recurring invoice created on one date and the payment to be processed for that invoice a few days later?

I can help you set a recurring invoice that'll notify you days before the date of the transaction, @larz01.

You can create a reminder recurring invoice. This will send you a reminder days before the transaction date. Then, you can set a recurring payment from your merchants account on what day this will be processed. 

To create a reminder recurring invoice:

1. Go to the Gear icon (⚙) and select Recurring Transactions.
2. Pick New, choose Invoice and then select OK.
3. Enter a Template name.
4. Choose Reminder as the Type. 
5. You can set how many days before the transactions date you'll be reminded of the invoice.
