Hi there, mitchell. I can share information about managing estimates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
An estimate is a non-posting transaction that directly closes when added to an invoice. This happens when an estimate is 100% invoiced to your client. Therefore, it could be the reason why the transaction no longer shows when attempting to create a new invoice.
At this time, we can check the invoices linked to an estimate by clicking on the linked transaction on the Estimate page. Here’s how:
- Go to the Sales menu and navigate to the Estimates tab.
- Locate the estimate where you converted the invoice from.
- Click the dropdown arrow under the Action column and select View/Edit.
- In the Estimate window, see the invoice linked to it highlighted in blue.
Once your customers decide to pay their balances, you can begin recording your customer’s payments to keep your records accurate.
Please know I'm a post away if you have concerns about sales transactions. I wish you continued success in all of your business ventures. Take care!
