How do I add invoices older than 2018 in quickbooks online?

Also why won't manually added mileage older than January 2018 appear?

How do I add invoices older than 2018 in quickbooks online?

Let me share methods to help record older invoices and manually add backdated mileage in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Jetty.

You can add older invoices in QBO by entering them manually, just as you would when creating a new invoice. Select the correct date and year, fill in the necessary information, and click Save. Refer to the sample screenshot below:

Take note that adding closed book transactions could impact your records. Therefore, it's best to consult your accounting professional for accurate tracking. If you don't have one, you can find a professional through this link: Find an accountant.

I've replicated and successfully added older mileage to my QBO account. Let me show the step-by-step below to achieve this:

  1. Ensured that you selected the correct vehicle for the trip and specified the exact date when the vehicle was bought and the date you used it in service.

  2. When manually adding the trip, ensure the trip date is on or after the date the vehicle was placed in service.
  3. After entering this information, save the entry.

  4. Make sure to select All in every dropdown, then click the appropriate tax year from the older date to the most recent date.

Once the issue persists after you've followed the steps. I recommend performing basic troubleshooting to determine if this is a browser issue by accessing your QBO account in an incognito or private window. The browser's cache and cookies become corrupted, causing problems when accessing websites or opening files. Refer to the following keyboard shortcuts based on your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the private browsing session works, clear the browser's cache to allow the system to restart. You can use other supported, up-to-date browsers to clear the cache and reset the system, resolving issues caused by stored cache and cookies.
