How do I add Job Calls to a specific customer so I can track profit and loss on each customer?

You can use the Projects feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you'll be able to track project income, expenses, and profitability to your specific customer. I'm here to guide you how.

First, turn on the Project feature if you haven't already in the Account and Settings menu's Advanced tab. This will let the Projects menu be visible in the main navigation bar.

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Select Account and Settings.
3. Go to the Advanced tab.
4. Click anywhere in the Projects section to expand it.
5. Select the Organize all job-related activity in one place checkbox.
6. Select Save.

Next, create your first project and add the specific customer for it. Here's how:

1. Go to the Projects menu.
2. Select New Project.
3. Give your project a name.
4. Select the customer you’re working for from the drop-down menu.
5. Add any notes or details about the project.
6. Select Save.

Then, add your income and expenses transactions. You can also include an existing expenses and invoices to your projects. QuickBooks lets you view important cost and profitability (job costing) on each project you make. There are three reports that you can choose from to check your profit and loss on each customer. From the Project Reports tab, you can view the Project profitability, Time cost by employee or vendor, and Unbilled time and expenses reports.
