How do i search sales tax by customer?

You used to be able to look at sales tax, click on the amount due per period and then see all of the customer invoices that were taxed in that state for that time period. Now, all I see is the tax report/statement for the quarter. I need to be able to see the individual invoices making up that taxable income...how do I do that now?

How do i search sales tax by customer?

I can show you how to check or search the sales tax by customer, @tami14.

You can run a Sales Tax Liability report to get a summary of your taxable income per tax agency. To check for the individual invoices that make up that taxable income, simply click on the Taxable amount link in the report to run a Transaction Report. It'll be showing all invoices and sales receipts that make that amount.

Here's how:

  1. From your homepage, go to the Reports menu and look for the Sales Tax Liability report.
  2. Click to open the report.
  3. Set the Report period and Tax Agencyrepo.JPG
  4. Select Run report

Here, you can view the total tax amounts you collected from your customers from the Tax Amount column. This includes totals for state rate and local tax rates (such as city, county, and/or district). Click on each amount under the Taxable Amount to open a Transaction report to view all the invoices and sales receipts that make that amount. taxable amount.JPG

You can read this article for more information: Check how much sales tax you owe in QuickBooks Online. From here, you can choose to memorize this report to save it with its current customization settings. See this article for detailed guidance: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Onlinememorize report.JPG

Drop me a line if you need more help in generating the information that you need with your sales tax. I'm always glad to help in any way I can. Have a great rest of the day.
