Let's click the Copy Format button so QuickBooks will use the revision of your invoice modified by layout designer, @richard45. I'll guide you through the steps.

  1. Go to Lists from the top menu.
  2. Select Templates
  3. Locate the template and double-click it to open the Basic Customization window.
  4. Choose Layout Designer
  5. Select the Invoice panel.
  6. Click Copy Format from the top menu.
  7. Close the Layout Designer window.
  8. Click Yes to record your changes.

The screenshot below shows you the sixth to seventh steps.

Once done, you'll be able to see the Copy 3 section by clicking the Print Preview button. See the screenshot below for your visual reference.

Customizing templates helps you control how they look and what information is included to personalize your brand. For more details, check out this website: Customize Form Templates. You'll also find steps on how to duplicate, export or import your templates in this link.

I'm here anytime you have other concerns. Have a great day, @richard45.

You may find the template data in *.DES format. Put your own template files in the same forder with QBW. To activate the template in a certain data file, go to menu Lists > Templates > click the Templates button > Import. Once it is done, you may find your new template to choose later.
