Hi, @kenwilsonemail4.
Since it affects your navigation in QuickBooks Online (QBO), I suggest clicking the X or No, thanks button. That way, the browser will remember your response for the popup ads.
The Ads you get is about what you'll need sooner in your account. It conveys that this feature is existing and wants you to try it.

@JonpriL Your recommended solution does not work. In the Marketing Preferences there are three choices: do not mail me, do not phone me, do not email me. There is no choice to turn off in-app advertisements. There should be!
Hello, jeffbean.
I'm here to help disable advertisements you've already paid for in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
These ads serve as a guide to help you navigate the software. While there isn't an option to permanently turned them off, you can click the X or No, thanks button. This way, QBO will turn off the ads and remember your choice. Thus, the pop-up won't show up again.
If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to post down below. Thank you and have a nice weekend.
@Nick_M Another non-responsive non-answer from QB staff. I've only been using QBO for less than a year, and I'm learning that's the modus operandi here.
These ads are not "guides." They have nothing to do with "navigating the software." You are trying to sell me more services. I do not want them.
Clicking the X to close the ads does not "turn off the ads." They keep coming. It does not "remember [my] choice ... they pop-up won't show up again." The same ads keep coming up, time and time again.
So many false statements.
QBO looks and feels more like a bad blog-magazine with a click-bait ad revenue model. It doesn't look and feel like the commercial information systems I use in my business. I am spending an inordinate amount on this service and you make it feel like I'm reading People Magazine Online.
I don't appreciate my own information systems interupting me from my work to tell me things I a) don't need, b) don't want, and c) won't buy. It's as annoying as an unscheduled solicitor knocking on my door.
Other software publishers take the approach of using ads in their freemium versions, then when I pay for the premium version, the ads go away. I understand the deal there: in exchange for a free system, I pay for it with my attention and my eyeballs. But I'm spending nearly $1000 a year and you're still abusing me with ads to spend more. It's unconscionable. It's despicable.
Stop the ads. Stop them NOW.
