How do u search for a customer when all I have is the contact name that would be in their Profile? I used to be able to enter the person's name in Search, but can't now.

You've come to the right place, @hesterma.

You can use the Advanced Search function so you'd be able to locate your customer information in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Magnifying Glass.
  2. Click the Advanced Search link. 4002.GIF
  3. From the Search page, filter each search field so you'd be able to locate the specific transaction or customer.
  4. Select Display Name from the drop-down menu above the Search button.
  5. Pick the Customer's name from the Contains or Equals drop-down.
  6. Click the Search button. 4003.GIFYou can also click the Add filter button. This way, you can add more details to narrow down the search.

Lastly, you can view the Customer Contact List. It displays your customers' phone number, email, billing address, and other contact info.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Reports menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Sales and Customers section.
  3. Select the Customer Contact List.

Once you've located the customer's name, click on it to view its complete customer information.

Know that the Community and I are always here if you have other questions about locating your customer or transaction details. Have a great day ahead!
