I can no longer edit the Company address (the Co that is invoicing) when invoicing a customer. Is there a workaround? I used to be able to.

How do I edit my address when sending an invoice to a customer in QBO?

Hi, sdunleavy-suppor.

I'd be happy to assist with updating your company address in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I'd like to know if you're using a customized template aside from the Modern template when creating an invoice. Providing us with additional details will help me provide appropriate information.

In the meantime, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. There are times when websites like QBO experience browser issues caused by stored internet cache files. Let's begin by switching to an incognito window or a private browser. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N

From there, change the company address on the invoice page. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. It cleans up browser cookies that prevent webpages from running smoothly. If not, you can utilize another supported browser to optimize your QuickBooks experience.

Alternatively, since updating a company address also changes the entire company information everywhere, you can consider changing it through the company preferences. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Company menu, then look for the Address field.
  3. Click the Pencil icon.
  4. After editing, click Save.

I use google chrome and I have the same issue in an incognito window.

I have tried both standard, modern and custom invoice template.  The problem is that the Company has 2 addresses and I need to switch between the 2 on some invoices.   I was able to do that in QBO a month ago.   I am not able to do that now.

The editing of the company address is available in Modern View, Dunleavy.

In the Modern view, you can modify the address on the invoice. Since you've already tried using other supported browsers and the issue persists, I recommend contacting our support team for further investigation. Here's how to contact them:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the upper right corner of your screen, click on Help (?).
  3. Select or type Contact Us.
  4. Start entering your concern, then select Let's Talk.
  5. Please choose a way to connect with us:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

In the meantime, you can manually edit the Customer-facing address in Account and Settings to add another location to your invoice. For a guide, follow these steps:

  1. In the Gear icon, hit Account and Settings.
  2. From the Company, select the pencil icon of the Customer-facing address.
  3. Untick the Same as company address and enter the other place, then choose Save.

Additionally, you can use Location tracking, which allows you to select between your two addresses when creating an invoice. Know that it only works when using custom templates in invoices.
