Let me help you record your bills in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You'll get this error message once you enter any details in the Item details section without selecting a product or service item.
If you haven't created any items yet, simply follow these steps to add one.
Once done, create again a bill and select the item in the PRODUCT/SERVICE drop-down list. Enter the rest of the details, then click Save and close.

Hello, thanks so much for your explanation. Where your screen shot shots a drop down menu for products and services under Items, my screen has an open text box that says "description." I do have a list of 20-30 items in my Products and Services list (migrated over from Desktop for Mac, plus one that I recently created in QB Online for manual mileage). Is there a reason that this text box for Description is appearing instead of a pull-down menu for products and services?
I have checked our records and found no reports from other users having an issue with the Product/Service menu, CK737.

Open your QuickBooks account using a private browser to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys:
If it works, you return to your main browser and clear the cache. This helps refresh the system, and you can work with a clean slate. You can also use other compatible browsers as an alternative.
