I was asked to change the invoice template, but I don't have admin access and no one remembers who does. How can I see who made the previous changes to the template?

Hi there, emily153153153.

I’m here to help and guide you on how to see who made changes to the invoice template.

The master and company admins are the ones who have access to all areas of the company. I suggest reaching out to them and then run the Audit Log Report.

This is a built-in tool that allows you to check the transaction history. It also gives you a clearer picture of who made changes to the data file.

To open the report:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right and choose Audit Log under Tools.
  2. Press the Filter drop-down to sort the data.
  3. In the Events section, tick the radio button for Show All Events and hit Apply.
  4. Go to the Event column to see who modified the invoice template.

Here’s an article that provides detailed information about this feature. It includes an online tutorial for visual reference: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, this link contains topics about managing customer transactions and invoices. From there, you’ll see the articles on how to customize sales templates, receive payments, etc.: QBO self-help guide.

Feel free to leave a comment below if you need help with QBO. I’ll get back to make sure you’re taken care of. Have a great rest of the day.
