Inventory Item QuickReport in QuickBooks Online

I need to view the transaction history for a specific product over an assigned time. I have found reports that show all purchases, and different reports that show all sales, but no report that shows sales, purchases, and all other inventory adjustments in a single report. How do I run that report?

The equivalent report in QuickBooks desktop is Inventory Item QuickReport.

Inventory Item QuickReport in QuickBooks Online

Hello there, ChrisDM.

I can see the importance of having a comprehensive view of your inventory's transaction history for better management and decision-making.

Currently, showing the sales, purchases, and other inventory adjustments in a single report is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

We understand your need for functionality and would love to hear your thoughts by sending us feedback on your QuickBooks Online company. It enables our product developers to consider adding it in the future.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  3. Once done, click on Next.

In the meantime, you can customize the Sales by Product/Service Summary report to include inventory adjustments. While it may not be as straightforward as a single-click solution, it can provide the consolidated insights you need.

You can also use the Inventory Valuation Summary report to overview inventory quantities, values, purchases, sales, and adjustments. While not as detailed as the Inventory Item QuickReport in QuickBooks Desktop, it provides valuable insights into your inventory's movement.

Additionally, I've added an article for you to learn how to see your sales and inventory status: Use reports to see your sales and inventory status.

I'm also adding this resource to help personalize and add specific info to your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and receipts. This way, you'll have attractive, professional-looking customer forms.

Keep me posted if you have additional questions about running inventory reports in QuickBooks. I'll be around to help you again. Take care!

Inventory Item QuickReport in QuickBooks Online

The Inventory Valuation Summary comes very close to what I'm looking for and is a good enough solution, BUT permissions prevent the employees I need to access this report from accessing it. I can't figure out how to give an employee access to see that report without giving them access to the P&L and other sensitive information.

Thank you for the prompt response, ChrisDM. I'll be here to further assist and share information about managing your user roles and access permissions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

We understand how beneficial it is to allow your employees to access the Inventory Valuation Summary report without giving them additional access to the Profit and Loss report and other sensitive information. As of the moment, this option isn't available. Nevertheless, we value your input and ideas about having this functionality and recommend you submit a feature suggestion directly to our Product Development Team.

I'll show you how you can send one:

  1. Locate the Gear icon.
  2. Under Profile, choose Feedback.
  3. Enter your feedback suggestion.
  4. Hit the Next button.
