Is it possible to link an invoice(s) to an estimate after conversion from desktop to onine?

previously billed invoices are not showing up as being billed to the estimate. Can you link previous invoices after the conversion? If not, is there a work around to enter this information?

Thank you for choosing QuickBooks as your business financial software, judy. I'll help you manage your migrated estimate in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Beforehand, please know that when migrating from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QBO, estimates are moved in the following statuses:

  • Active estimates are marked as Closed.
  • Inactive estimates are marked as Rejected.
  • Estimates for progress invoicing won't link to the invoices you created in Desktop.

In your case, we can delete the invoice and recreate it from the estimate. However, if these entries happen to have a Closed or Rejected/Declined status, we can alter this first to make it pending. I'll show you how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online Company file.
  2. Go to the Sales menu, and navigate to the Estimates tab.
  3. Locate the transaction, and drill down the arrow under the Action column.
  4. From there, select Update Status and choose Pending.
  5. Lastly, click OK.

Then let's proceed to convert the transaction into an invoice. Here's how:

  1. From the Estimate tab, click the Estimate transaction and tap Edit.

  2. Click the Create Invoice button and select the amount to convert. Then, click Create Invoice.

  3. In the invoice window, review the details and click Save and Close.

Furthermore, you have the option to use different financial reports to gain a quick overview of your business's financial progress. Additionally, I have included a resource that provides detailed instructions on how to customize these reports to your needs.
