Is there a way to show Income broken down to the product/service level?

I have 5 products that I sell that are a subcategory of Sales on my Income section on Profit and Loss. I want to see the income from each product. Is there a way to view that?

Go to reports, enter sales in the search box, and select sales by item, set the report date range

I'm delighted to see you here today, lindmediaco06.

In addition to @Rustler answer, let's set the Display by column to Products/Services to see the breakdown of your income by product and service level. I'm here to make sure you can do it in just a few clicks.

Here's how:

  1. Head to the Reports menu on the left panel, choose the Standard tab,
  2. Go to the Business overview section and select Profit and Loss.
  3. On the Profit and Loss Report page, click the Report period drop-down and set the correct date range.
  4. Navigate to the Display columns by section and select Products/Services from the drop-down menu.profit.1.png
  5. Tap the Run report button to apply the changes.

I've included a screenshot of how it looks like after following these steps: profit.png

You can also use the Customize feature to change the layout or data on the report. These resources will also show you how to customize your reports, add filters to your statements, and manage your accounting tasks.

If you have any further questions about customizing reports or other QuickBooks-related issues, leave a comment below. I'm always ready to answer them for you. Have a wonderful weekend.
