QucikReports in Accrual not Cash Method

I am using the cash basis with QB Online.  If I go into the chart of accounts and then click on any income or expense account, the Account Quickreport that appears for that income or expense item provides information under the accrual method.  How do I fix that so that the report is under the cash method.

Thanks

QucikReports in Accrual not Cash Method

Let's customize the report, bookkeeper.

The accounting method set in QuickBooks Online will not directly apply when running the Account QuickReports. We'll have to change it to Cash manually to get the correct transactions.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the income or expense account you want to run.
  3. Click Run report.
  4. Make sure you're in the Modern View mode. If not, click Try Modern View.

  5. Click Customize
  6. Under Customize report, switch to Cash.
  7. Set the correct reporting period.

  8. Once done, click Save.

For more details about how the accounting method affects your books, please see this article: Cash and Accrual.

If you have set the correct method to Cash, I suggest running the report using the private window. This will help us determine if the issue is browser cache-related. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

If the correct transaction shows, clear the browser's cache. Doing so deletes all the data from your browser and optimizes its performance. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific issue.

Moreover, QuickBooks Online allows you to memorize your reports. This way, you can save the current customized settings.
