How do I create a report that has JUST the employee name and social security number? They all want to add in additional items within the same cell.
Running a report with just an employee name and social security number isn't available within QuickBooks Online (QBO), Gretchen29. Let me share some alternatives below.
Currently, you can only run the Employee Details report to see all available employees and customize the report to include the Tax info column. However, it isn't specific to SSNs only and will be a separate column from the employees' names. To see the complete SSN, click the View button, which will send a verification code to your mobile number. Please see the screenshot below for your visual reference:
Alternatively, we can export this report to Excel. This way, you can manually group the report to show the employee name and SSN in the same cell. Simply click the Export dropdown.
Nonetheless, I recommend sending feedback to our product developers about having the option to customize the report to include specific items within a single cell or column. This way, they can review it and might consider implementing it in the future. Let me show you how:
After customizing the report, you can save it to remember it with its current settings. Feel free to check out this article for further details on the process: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
I'll keep this thread open so you can comment with additional details or let me know if you have any follow-up concerns about customizing payroll reports in QBO. Have a great day ahead!
Thanks for the information. That is what I thought would be said.
I will take your advice and send feedback to the product developers. You would think that when creating QBO, it would be more powerful than the old time QBD. I came from QBD and am very disappointed in QBO. It has taken me many steps backward. QBO is limited on how it can produce reports. Most have to be exported to Excel and then manipulated from there.
