I’d be glad to help you in pulling up a report that has the data you need.
The Sales Tax Liability report only shows sales taxes that you’ve collected and the amount you owe to your tax agencies.
To view your sales receipts refund, you’ll want to run the Transaction List by Customer report and customize it to show all the refund receipts. Let me show you how in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account:
- Go to the Reports menu.
- Type in Transaction List by Customer on the search bar.
- Click Customize on the upper right.
- From the General drop-down, select the appropriate date on the Report period.
- Now go to the Filter drop-down and choose Refund on the Transaction Type drop-down.
- Pick a specific customer on the Customer drop-down, then click Run report.

You can also read through this article for more details about personalizing reports in QBO: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
If you wish to have the data on your Sales Tax Liability report, you can export it to Excel and add a column for the refund receipts from there.
Additionally, you might also want to memorized the report to instantly access the information anytime you need it. That way, you won’t have to go through the customization process again every time you run the report.
Let me know if you have other questions about running reports in QBO, I’m just a few clicks away. Have a wonderful day ahead and always keep safe.
