I'll hear you out, @Videotel Digital

I'm here to help enable the SKU number in QuickBooks Online's (QBO) new invoice format.

If you're referring for seeing the SKU number when selecting items in the new invoice format, it isn't currently possible in the new invoice as of now. For the time being, I recommend ensuring that the SKU column is enabled in your invoices and manually selecting the item first to see its SKU number. I've added the steps below and a screenshot after the steps for visual reference.

  1. In your invoice window, select Manage
  2. Select the Customization drop-down list.
  3. Toggle on SKU
  4. Enter a Product/Service and other details of the invoice.

To check the available and unavailable features in the new invoice and estimates, refer to this article: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online

It's important that the software accommodates various business needs, and your experience highlights where it needs to improve especially in this transition from the old to the new invoice layout. I'd encourage sending your feedback to our product engineers for this one:

  1. In your QBO account, go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.

Let me add this article about recording customer payments in QBO as a future reference: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online

Keep us posted if you have updates enabling SKU in the new invoice experience. We'll do our best to assist.

Oh, you will? That sort of sounds nice, but doesn't make any sense in context, unless you're asking for more feedback or something like that.
