Yes, we can import Chart of Accounts with subaccounts in your company file, aldo-angulo. I'll help you organize these accounts from a spreadsheet so you can seamlessly manage your financial data.

In QuickBooks, you can import your Chart of Accounts using a spreadsheet in Excel, Google Sheets, or a CSV file. With that, please make sure to have these columns in your spreadsheet to ensure accuracy when importing these data:

  • Account Name
  • Type
  • Detail Type
  • Number

Whenever you're ready, add your subaccounts under the Account Name column using this format: Main account:subaccount. Please refer to the table below for reference.

Once everything looks good, upload your file into your QuickBooks Online account. To do this:

  1. In your QBO account, go to Settings and select Import Data. Then, choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. To upload the file from your local drive, select Browse and choose the file. Then, select Open.
  3. Once done, select Next.

I'm also sharing this guide for more detailed inputs: Import your chart of accounts to QuickBooks Online.

In case you require additional guidance when reviewing your accounts in the future, you can start reconciling them to make sure they always match your bank and credit card statements.

I'm all ears to any additional queries you may have when managing accounting data in QuickBooks. Feel free to leave a reply in the comments below. Take care and have a good one!
