Hello there, PJL0999.
The amount recorded from the estimate will be the same amount showing in the Est. Cost number in the Job Estimates vs Actual Detail report. One thing we can do is to double-check the transaction. Here's how:
All transactions coming from the estimate will match unless there is a transaction that does not come from the estimate. For more details about managing report in QuickBooks Desktop, check these articles:

Hello there, @PJL0999.
Job Estimates vs. Actuals Detail offers detailed costs and revenues for the customer or job you have selected. It compares estimated and actual costs and estimated to actual revenue for each job that you invoiced. I suggest checking each amount under Est.Cost column to review the details why it shows a different amount.
You can also check the date range, it should be matched on the period here the estimates have been entered.
You can use this article on how to customize reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

I too am having job est vs actual detail problems. I want my expenses to fall in the correct estimated item line. So in enter bills, I changed the bill from expense to item. now that vendor invoice amount doesn't show as an expense on job Profit Loss report. please help.
Hi @Lolly3,
You can go through a few things I'll share below to get this bill to appear on the Profit and Loss by Job report in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
First, open the bill in question. Go to the Items tab, and ensure the correct job is assigned under the Customer:Job column.
You can also check if the correct date range is set on the Profit and Loss by Job report.
If both of these are without issues, proceed with the Verify and Rebuild Data tools. Refer to this article for the steps: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
In case you encounter any other issues which appear to be a cause of company file integrity, refer to this article: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
Keep in mind that you're always welcome to post here in the Community if you have any other concerns with your reports in QBDT. I'll be around to help you out.

Hi there, Becky.
I'm here to help you identify the column that shows where you made money on a project in the Job Estimates vs. Actual Detail report in QuickBooks Desktop.
When you run the Job Estimates vs. Actual Detail report, the Act. Revenue column will show how much money you made on a project.
