Why will the bank statements not show in QBO after authorizing in bank account. banks says all is authorized, but qbo does not show the statement?

Let's work together to determine why the bank statements aren't showing in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and rectify this issue, bstinn.

Beforehand, I'd like to know which bank you were connected to. It'll help me determine if there are any ongoing investigations related to your financial institution. In the meantime, let's go through some troubleshooting steps to rule out any browser-related issues.

First, I recommend opening your QBO account on a private browser. This way, we can determine whether this is a browser cache-related issue. The browser utilizes cached data to load web pages quickly. However, excessive cache can lead to problems that impact the appearance and functionality of your account.

An incognito mode helps us verify the issue since this doesn't save any files. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

If the bank statement shows, clear the browser's cache. This deletes all the data from your browser and optimizes its performance. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific issue.

However, if this is the first time you're accessing bank statements, it's possible the program is still working to make the feature available for your bank. You can visit this article to determine if this is added to the list: Supported Financial Institutions.

If this isn't added to the list, I recommend manually attaching a bank statement to a reconciliation. Here's how:

  1. Reconcile the account.
  2. Once done, click Finish now.
  3. Select Attach statement to add the statement.

  4. After that, this saves your bank statement with the reconciliation, so you have it for your records.

For more details about the process, please see this article: Get bank statements directly from your bank when you reconcile in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can print or export your reconciliation reports in your QBO account to keep a handy copy if you encounter any issues reconciling the following month and when you meet with your accountant.
