We are a Non-profit organization. We generate receipts in quick books for each donation we received in our bank(online deposit). As we try to generate the balance sheet (statement of account), we observed that donation receipts also showing as an additional asset category. Is this the right way to create a balance sheet? are we doing something wrong while create donation receipts. please guide us

The receipts will show as an additional asset category in the Balance Sheet if you use the asset in your item. For in-kind donations, you should set up an income and clearing account for charitable contributions. Then create a product or service item for the donations.

Thanks for the reply, I was able to resolve the issue for Donations based on your inputs by creating in-kind clearing account.
I have few more Sales receipts related to some of the products we sold. Even they are also showing as an category under assets. They are similar to Donations where amount is already received in our bank account. How do we handle those receipts. Please let me know.
