Receipts will not let me create a bill from an invoice. It keeps saying there is an error in the filename or file extension.

I have uploaded it from google the drive as a pdf. I have downloaded it and made it OCR'd adobe pdf and uploaded from my computer. It keeps saying: The uploaded filename or file extension is invalid. Supplied Content Type: File Content Type:application/pdf, File Name: File Name:receipt-2024.00

This is after I split and code the bill in review. I cannot create a bill because this comes up. Later it throws up a duplicate orange sticker looking thing in the For Review area by the receipt I have reviewed but will not create a bill for.

I appreciate your efforts in trying different methods of uploading the receipts, Cole. Let’s find a solution that allows you to move forward without these interruptions.

The appearance of a duplicate orange sticker in the For Review area next to the receipt you've already reviewed indicates a potential issue with how QuickBooks Online (QBO) is processing the entry.

Before we begin troubleshooting, please ensure the filename is simple and free of special characters or spaces. For instance, renaming the file like "receipt2024.pdf" can help avoid potential issues.

Additionally, please note that QBO allows only one receipt per file upload. If you have multiple receipts, you'll need to upload them individually.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, let's access your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a web page problem. You can refer to these shortcut keys below to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P

Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N

Safari: Command + Shift + N

After starting a new private browsing session, please log into your QBO account and check if the error no longer appears. If yes, proceed to clear your browser's cache to help the program run smoothly and eliminate technical issues. You can also use other devices and supported browsers as alternatives.

Furthermore, I've included a helpful article that explains how to email your receipts directly to streamline your receipt management. This resource covers customizing an email address for forwarding receipts and bills, as well as how to review and categorize them once they’re in QBO: Email receipts and bills to QBO.

This thread is always open if you have other matters to discuss. If you require help recording other entries in QBO, get back to us in this conversation by clicking the Reply button. My team and I will always be around to lend you a hand any time you need guidance.
