Reconciling

I have added an accountant onto my account. For some reason they can't see the bank accounts that I have reconciled. How can I change that?

Reconciling

Hello @caitlyn5, it seems like your accountant is having trouble viewing your bank accounts in QuickBooks. Let me help you resolve this issue so that your accountant can access your accounts without any hassle.

If you invited your accountant to access your QuickBooks account, they should be able to view your bank accounts and reconciled transactions through their QuickBooks Online Accountant account. Since they can't view them, let them perform some troubleshooting steps to see if the issue is within their browser. It could be due to a cache-induced browser that affects the program's performance. They can start by accessing your account through an incognito or private browser. Here are the keyboard shortcut keys for easier access:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If this works, they can clear their browser's cache or utilize other supported browsers and devices to access your accounts.

On the other hand, if you didn't invite them but added them as a user, the possible reason why they can't view your reconciled bank accounts and transactions could be due to their access and roles. In that case, please check the roles you set up for them and edit them as necessary. Please know that this option applies to Advanced users only, and you'll have to delete and add them again if you're using other subscriptions.

Here's an article to learn more details about roles and access: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

However, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop, you can change their access in the desktop version by following these instructions: Create and manage users and roles in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.

Moreover, to help you and your accountant manage your bank transactions in QuickBooks, I've included some helpful resources below:
