Reporting - Revenue v's expenses per month on same report

Yes, it can be done, @MK18.

You can run the Profit and Loss by Month report in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

This shows you your income and expenses by month. However, viewing it in a block diagram isn't feasible. As a way around, you can export it to Excel and modify the report from there. Let me show you how:

1. Go to the Reports menu.
2. Type in and enter Profit and Loss by Month in the search field.
3. Click the Customize button to filter the report based on the date you need.
4. Select the Export icon, and select Export to Excel. 

You can also save the current settings of your report by memorizing it. This way, won't have to customize it again every time you need to view the same data.

I think our app Better Reports can show this. I have created a sample bar graph report that shows monthly total revenue and expenses (screenshot attached).

We can also show these fields in a table and matrix format. It is also possible to filter the report for a specific period and include other details.

Many thanks for the response - that is exactly what we are after.  Can we also filter by Class?  How can i generate these reports.  Where can I find the App Better Reports?
