Reports for Customer Sales with customer addresses by class

Hi,

I am needing to run a report that is showing Customer Sales by Class that also includes the Customer address on the same report. I've tried to customize multiple reports in Quickbooks online and can't seem to find one with both the customer address, sales and by Class.

Reports for Customer Sales with customer addresses by class

Generating a report by class with customer address and sales is interesting, @Bre1208. We can run different reports and then combine them manually to achieve it. I'm here to walk you through the process to ensure you get the data you need.

You're right, no report contains sales and addresses by class together. I can see how that would benefit you and your business. Thus, I recommend sharing this idea with our Product Developers. They will review it and consider it for future updates depending on the number of users' requests.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile column, select Feedback.
  3. Share your suggestion, then click Next.

You'll want to track your suggestion through this website. You can also visit our blog to keep up with recent events and developments.

As a workaround, we can run a Customer Contact List report for the addresses and Sales by Customer Detail or Sales by Class Detail reports for the transactions.

  1. On the left pane, select Reports.
  2. Search for Customer Contact List.
  3. On the upper right section, click Customize.
  4. Press the Rows/Columns dropdown and pick which address you need to appear in the report. In the Filter dropdown, choose the info you'd like to add.
  5. Tap Run report.
  6. Repeat the process for other reports.

I'm adding these screenshots for your reference:

Once done, merge these reports into one Excel file. See this article for more guidance: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

Reports for Customer Sales with customer addresses by class

Thank you for replying JamaicaA,

I actually have figured that part out, however it still requires you to move information from one Excel spreadsheet by individual cell manually into the other excel spreadsheet, so we may we as well just type the info manually anyway. So, this is not what is needed as this is a huge report for us that has to be done every month. Unfortunately, we just moved from Desktop version which pulled this entire report with no problem, but Online seems to be lacking in many areas and this is just one of them.

We're still using desktop and need the class report with customer address included. How did you use to run it and has Quickbooks fixed the online version to run same report?

Reports for Customer Sales with customer addresses by class

I appreciate you for joining this thread, @LDFF. Let me share updates about running customer sales with customer address reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

For now, generating a customer report by class with the customer address is still unavailable in the online version. Having this feature will specify a particular area of your business and provide you with additional details about your customers.

Nonetheless, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) versions contain multiple sales reports where you can apply classes and add customer addresses. One of these is the Sales by Customer Detail report, which you can customize to add particular columns.

Moreover, I suggest sending this suggestion to our product development team. Our product developers are responsible for evaluating and implementing new enhancements, so they would be better equipped to determine the feasibility and benefits of your suggestion for our users:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.

For the time being,  I would suggest generating a Customer Contact List report for the addresses, and Sales by Customer Detail or Sales by Class Detail reports for the transaction for your QBO firm.

It brings me great delight to assist you with any product preference queries you might have. If you require further guidance in navigating through the application, feel free to post them in this forum. Take care!

Reports for Customer Sales with customer addresses by class

I don't understand why this feature is still not available. This seems like a common report that many customers would need. Pulling a list of customer details by class transactions is not an unusual business practice. If Desktop can do it, why can't Online?

Reports for Customer Sales with customer addresses by class

As a QuickBooks user myself, I understand how important it is to have access to this report for effectively monitoring and managing employees. For now, We can run a Customer Contact List report for the information needed and Sales by Customer Detail or Sales by Class Detail reports for the transactions. Let me provide the steps on how this works.

Before we proceed, please note that while QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop are both accounting software, they do have differences. Some features and reports may not be visible or available on one platform compared to the other.

Moreover, to run the reports, you can follow these steps:

  1. On the left pane, select Reports.
  2. Search for Customer Contact List.
  3. On the upper right section, click Customize.
  4. Hit the Rows/Columns dropdown and select the information you need to appear in the report. In the Filter dropdown, choose the additional info you'd like to add.
  5. Click Run report.
  6. Repeat the process for the other reports.

Once done, merge these reports into one Excel file. You can refer to this article: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

However, if you'd like this report to be available in QBO, I encourage you to send feedback to our engineers. Your suggestions can help them consider adding this feature in future updates. Here's how:

1.Go to the Gear icon.
2.Under the Profile column, select Feedback.
3.Share your suggestion, then click Next.

Additionally, you can memorize reports in QuickBooks if you want the same settings of the customized report to be available for future use. This way, you won't have to go through the customization process each time, saving you time and ensuring consistency in your reporting.

In case you want to print the reports to keep a copy of all the transactions. Feel free to click the Reply button and we'll respond to you anytime.
