setting default columns

Is it possible to set default columns when drilling down into accounts from the trial balance? I'd also like to know if I can select to see certain accounts without opening the entire ledger?

setting default columns

Hello, AJGmc.

I'd like to extend a helping hand in setting default columns when drilling down specific accounts. I can also help you out in selecting certain accounts you want to see on the Trial Balance report.

Just to clarify, I take it that you're trying to save the columns after drilling down the transactions from a certain account. The columns won't be saved when you go back to the regular Trial Balance report.

Though, you can consider memorizing the drilled down account details if you want to see the customized columns in the future.

Simply click on the Saved customization button, enter a name for the report, then hit Save

You can access the saved report by going to the Custom reports tab in the Reports menu.

If you haven't already done it yet, customize the drilled down account details first by clicking on the Customize button.

Click on the Change columns link, then check or uncheck specific columns. Hit Run report when done.

For your second question, are you trying to filter out specific accounts from the Trial Balance report? If that's the case, then you can customize and filter out the accounts you don't want to see on the report.

Here's how:

  1. On the Trial Balance report, click the Customize button.
  2. Expand the Filter section.
  3. Check the Distribution account box.
  4. Select specific accounts you want to show on the drop-down menu.
  5. Hit Run report

Though if you want to only see specific accounts when opening the Trial Balance report, you'll want to customize and memorize it.

You can open it from the Custom reports tab if you want to see the data in the future.
